All Things Altered- Part 2
Last Friday I shared with you my love of altering pumpkins. I'm showing you the photo of the two I had done this year and asked you if you could tell which was the real one and which was the artificial one. Many of you guessed right and some of you said you weren't exactly sure but pretty sure. I think if the turquoise one had a longer stem it might have been harder to tell. I have found that most live pumpkins have shorter more imperfect stems while the orange, colllaged one has a stem that looks a bit too perfect. I dunno but the answer is the turquoise one is the real one. I'm sure you must feel better now that you know. hee hee hee.
Not too long ago I showed you the shower curtain I designed for my Mom that can be viewed at Society6.
My Mom had relocated a couple of months ago to another state and wanted to redecorate her bathroom with some different colors, which is where I came in.
The reason I am showing you this again is that I have also altered a couple more items. and
Lately I seem to be in this home decor line of thinking with my art. It's weird how the same things look in different lighting.
And lastly, one of my coworkers asked me if I would paint her phone case. Here is how I altered that.
I was pretty pleased and so was she.
So that's my chapter on my latest altered projects. I am linking to Paint Party Friday here and wish you a good weekend full of painty messes, fun and maybe something altered. Thanks for stopping by.

You have definitely inspired me to do the same for my bathroom when it gets repainted!! Your mom must be over the moon with these items!! Such a thrill... I think the orange pumpkin looks like the real one!! It's difficult to tell for sure!! Congratulations on the feature at ppf!! So happy that happened!

ha, yes! I was right last week :-) I love your decorated items. There's something so fullfilling about making everyday items into objects of art. Yours certainly look great!
ReplyDeleteHello Jo. Congratulations on being featured on PPF. I am really curious how you have altered the objects you show in this post.Could you do a more detailed post about the process if i am not asking for too much? Each one of them looks great.Do you only use acrylics? Do you finish them with a protective coat?It looks like a whole new and fun world to me :) I am glad you make stamps out of recycled materials. I think they are coolest because they are one-of-a-kind.Thank you for visiting my blog.Happy PPF :)
ReplyDeleteWow, Jo, your home decor items and the phone case look positively wonderful. I love the colors you used. Speaking of colors, I would have guessed wrong but for the same reason you gave. I thought the longer stem looked more real! Thanks for the kind words on my blog. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Hoping for a good night's sleep - so rare these nights.

ReplyDeleteWOW! These are great! I would have guessed that the orange pumpkin was the real one because of the stem. I love how you are altering all this stuff - so cool ;) So happy I stopped by your blog this morning.
ReplyDeleteWhat an array of unusual paint surfaces, you have worked wonders. I especially like the terrific shower curtain and the tray, and also like the way you have painted the phone case with a beautiful and complex design.
ReplyDeleteI love your color and design sense, Jo. And, while i am here, to answer you question about the background on the face you saw on IG, it is not citra solve paper, although i love them. It is newsprint paper with watercolor and some texture.
ReplyDeleteI agree this is just awesome. Bright beautiful colors with a fabulous design
