Fly

I have some new pages from the little journal I'm making with all kinds of recycled scraps of my art.
And this one is updated.
And finally, I've always known that angels are all around us. I received this in the mail yesterday from a person I do not know. Perhaps she has seen my blog. Regardless, I am honored to have been thought of in this way.
On the back of the post card, Linda in MA had written these words. "We are all each other's angels." I know she's right. Thank you, Linda. You are indeed, an angel. Hope everyone is having a creative weekend. Thanks for stopping by.............jo

Play

I couldn't help myself.....I had to play.......... I found this board book at The Dollar Store eons ago.........
and sanded it because it's got that shiny coating on it, and then gessoed it, and turned it upside down on my Gelli Plate.
We'll see where it goes. And here's a page from the little journal I showed you a couple of days ago.
I had a really yucky work day today. It was sooooooo wonderful to come home to find a surprise for me in the mail box. It's from my friend Robin who's a wonderful fiber artist. Look how cool this is!
Thank you so much, Robin! You made my day. And on another note,(that's a D sharp) I shall go and play. Thanks for stopping by..................................... jo

There are Faces I Remember...........

This is all a learning process. Right? Experimenting. practicing. Flying fearlessly. I've sort of adopted flying fearlessly as my " note to self" motto for this year. And so, on that note, I am flying fearlessly and daringly continuing to share with you my faces out of my head on the top of 'Morning Pages' upon waking at 5am. I am afraid they are all looking the same. Like they could be related. I am noticing that the pen bleeds when water touches it. I am noticing the faces have big lips, the eyes look wary, and that I like to draw them with turbans and or short hair. None of them are smiling so far. Hmm. I wonder what this says about the artist or better yet what does it say about the artist at 5am? Here are a few.
Ok. So the last one wasn't a face.
There's one more face I want to share with you. My Dad. Today is his birthday. He died at 59 yrs old in 1996. I miss him.
Thanks for visiting.................................... jo

Little Things

I'm working on this that I showed you a couple of days ago.
Here is what it is becoming.
I used a page from one of my Dad's old sermons and put watercolor on top. The underlined black marks are his.
It's not finished. I'm pleased with this at this point because I'm trying new things and using all my resources, like some of the new stamps and tags I made. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for visiting....................jo

Lamp Art

Remember I showed you this? I made this from my daughter's original sketch from when she was a little girl.
I had it enlarged to a small poster and gave it to her for Christmas but I hadn't yet had it framed. I came home one day and found it here.
Makes me think it really would look cool as the base of a lamp. Hmmm. What do you think?..........................................jo
